Beekeeping can support sustainable livelihoods and the environment. Monmouth-based Bees for Development has been supporting beekeeping around the world to combat poverty, build resilient livelihoods and benefit biodiversity for more than 30 years.

The Impact of Beekeeping on Livelihoods and Forests in Afram Plain, Ghana: Gideon Zege, Bees for Development Ghana and Honey and Beeswax Trade Centre Manager. Gideon will elaborate on the social, economic and environmental impacts of BfD Ghana’s work in Afram Plains over the last five years. Gideon manages the Bees for Development Ghana Honey Centre and leads beekeeping training. He builds relationships with local beekeepers and ensures they are connected with markets.

The Nexus Between Beekeeping, Coffee Growing & Agroforestry in Uganda: A Case of Jinja Farmers: Dennis Amena from The Uganda National Apiculture Development Organisation ensures services reach TUNADO members and new beekeepers in projects. He also handles business related issues such as offering business development advisory services to TUNADO members.
