Bees for Development Survey 2015

What we did

In January 2015 we sent out a survey to 2549 people who have used our Information Services. The questions concerned Bees for Development Journal, Resource Boxes and our website Information Portal. We used an online survey application called Survey Monkey and by 16 February we had received 602 replies. We do not have email addresses for all our readers - and so we sent a survey by post to readers whose Journal was coming up for renewal. We would like to thank all who responded.

T Shirts

All the names of those who responded were entered into a random draw to win a Bees for Development T Shirt. The names of the first 40 winners are listed here below. 10 T Shirts are reserved for those survey responders who have been requested to complete a paper survey by post - and we have allowed more time for them to respond.

The First Draft of the Survey Results Report can be downloaded here

What happens next?

We will use the results of the Survey to report to our donors and we hope they will continue to support us to maintain our Information Services. We have listened to what people have told us and we will make some changes to what we deliver and how. In particular we will consider:

  • Offering the Journal in electronic form
  • Increasing the number of Journal articles about experiences from beekeepers and projects
  • Providing more information about generating income from beekeeping
  • Adding video content to the Information Portal
  • Increasing the diversity of materials in Resource Boxes
