Insects recorded on sunflower crops at Udaipur, India, included 16 species of Hymenoptera; the main pollinator was Apis dorsata. The number of A. dorsata present, expressed as a percentage of total insect visitors, was higher at 10.00 h and 12.00 h than at 14.00 h and 16.00 h; the percentage increased with increasing mean weekly temperature (optimum 23-38oC in summer and 18-32o in winter), and increased as RH decreased (optimum 28-87% summer, and 44-71%, winter).
