Samples of small honeybees were collected from Yunnan province, China, and their morphology and biology were examined. the results suggest that there are two species of dwarf honeybees (rather than the single species Apis florea). The authors name them as Micrapis andreniformis (Smith), and present a key for distinguishing betwen the two species (all 3 castes). [See also abstract.]
