Special holidays and study tours with a bee theme
Safari is the Swahili word for 'journey', and we named our holidays in this way because our first Beekeepers' Safaris took place in Tanzania, East Africa. The Safaris combine travel with adventure, provide opportunities to see wonderful places, learn more about bees and beekeeping, and make new friendships. Programmes are carefully structured to provide interesting beekeeping experiences, good chances to meet local people and see the area you visit.
Bees for Development and our local partners always endeavour to incorporate the interests and wishes of Safari participants. On previous Safaris some participants wanted to go beekeeping every day! Non-beekeepers need have no fear however because beekeeping is optional! An important aspect of our Safaris is meeting beekeepers and their families; and you may be invited into their homes. For all our participants, this has been one of the most appreciated experiences of our Safaris.
