What We Do

Project Management & Development Action

Bees for Development has been involved with many different projects in a variety of ways. For example:

Feasibility studies

We have undertaken feasibility studies with our partners and on behalf of our clients. We have formulated project proposals, helped others to do so, and been involved with the selection of projects for financial support from funding agencies.

Project planning

Bees for Development places great value on careful project planning. We have skills in using well-known methods such as 'Goal Orientated Project Planning', the organisation of planning workshops, and 'Participatory Rural Appraisal' tools.

Project implementation

We ensure that project staff have the skills necessary for project implementation: this involves staff selection, procurement of equipment, development of administration and accounting methods, devising reporting schedules and ensuring good communication.

Technical skills

Bees for Development can provide technical advice on all aspects of our specialised subject: Beekeeping in rural development. We focus on simple and sustainable methods using indigenous skills and materials.

Evaluation

We undertake formal evaluations of beekeeping projects managed by other organisations.

Documentation

Bees for Development exists to ensure the spread of knowledge about beekeeping development. For this reason, we place great emphasis upon high quality, readable documentation.
