What We Do

Resource Boxes

Resources for Courses

Bees for Development helps projects and groups in developing countries by providing publications and materials for use at training courses and workshops.

"Many thanks for the training package sent to us. It is quite resourceful and useful to us. At the moment we have set up a small resource unit with various information on beekeeping. Farmers and other interested groups regulary vist the unit to obtain information for their needs". Martin Etone, Community Action for Development, Bangem, Cameroon. August 2006

The Resource Boxes are provided under sponsorship from Bees for Development Trust.  Our Resource Boxes (also known as Workshop Boxes) contain a selection from:

·     Bees for Development Journal – an excellent resource and important first contact for new beekeepers.

·     Bees and Rural Livelihoods – explains why beekeeping is such a great activity.  English, Portuguese and Spanish editions available. Remember to state the language you prefer.

·     Information Poster 1 - our famous Beekeeping sustains livelihoods: 10 good reasons and Information Poster 2 - Pollination. English, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish editions available. Remember to state the language you prefer.

·     Proceedings of the First West African Bee Research Seminar – donated to meetings concerning beekeeping in Africa.

·     Strengthening livelihoods:  exploring the role of beekeeping in rural development.

·     A selection of other appropriate publications, subject to funding availability.

We will also include a number of sponsorship forms to encourage individual participants to apply for a Bees for Development Journal sponsored subscription. Please make copies if you need more than we supply.

To ensure Resource Boxes arrive in time, your request must reach us at least 12 weeks ahead of the meeting date, with an indication of the number of participants.
