About the Trust

Bees for Development Trust is the working title of The Troy Trust, our Charity registered in the UK, Number 1078803 and a Registered Member of the Fundraising Standards Board self-regulation scheme.

BfD Trust supports the work of Bees for Development by raising funds, promoting appeals and ensuring that Bees for Development Journal reaches recipients in developing countries through our sponsored subscription scheme.

Help from Bees for Development Trust takes the form of information and advice for beekeeping projects, groups and individuals in developing countries. Information on all aspects of beekeeping is provided: how to build hives, market honey, manage bees sustainably, and create resilient livelihoods.

Very importantly beekeepers in developing countries are sponsored to receive Bees for Development Journal. Our award winning Journal provides advice on practical techniques, news and views, details of recent publications and forthcoming events and publishes items from beekeepers living in remote areas of the world whose voices would not otherwise be heard.

Beekeepers in developing countries have a great need for reliable information. BfD Trust keeps people in touch. Our resource boxes are valuable compilations of beekeeping books and posters to assist with meetings and training programmes.
