Our aim is to enable as many people as possible to access information useful for sustainable beekeeping development. All the information on this website can be used for the purposes of promoting apiculture for the benefit of alleviating poverty and conserving biodiversity, within the confines of our copyright.
Bees for Development have compiled the information in this website based on our own experiences, contributions we have received from practitioners over the last twenty five years, and from research papers and texts.
The text in this website has been prepared by BfD staff and volunteers. We would like to thank everyone who has sent us their photographs. If we have failed to credit your photograph, please let us know.
Much information has been drawn from Bees for Development Journal
We acknowledge all the financial help we have received in making this website:
The Wales for Africa grant donated in 2008/09 by the Welsh Assembly Government. This grant has paid for the work done at Bees for Development by Ms Pam Gregory in preparing information for BfD's African Beekeeping Information Portal.
Anglo American plc funded the web design and creation of the reference database work during 2008-2010
