Thanks to charitable donations made by the general public to Bees for Development Trust, we are able to run our Information Service, answering enquiries and sending information free of charge to beekeepers in developing countries. Your donations cover the cost of producing and sending Bees for Development Journal and Resource Boxes packed with training materials, to beekeepers, groups and schools in over 130 countries.

A large proportion of Bees for Development funding comes from grants for specific projects. Bees for Development has undertaken many research and development initiatives to help poor beekeepers engage with wider markets and increase their income through this wholly
sustainable and environmentally-positive activity.
Project funding is restricted to the project for which the grant has been made. Recent international projects have been funded by Comic Relief, the Big Lottery Fund, the Waterloo Foundation and the Welsh Assembly government.
We acknowledge all the financial help we have received in making this website:
The Wales for Africa funds donated in 2008/09 by the Welsh Assembly Government. This grant paid for the work done at Bees for Development by Ms Janet Lowore, Ms Pam Gregory and Ms Juliet Wright in preparing information for BfD's African Beekeeping Information Portal.
Anglo American plc have funded the development of the extensive reference database behind the Information Portal.
